Old Bridge Man Hit, Killed On Rt. 9 Friday

An Old Bridge man was hit by cars and killed while walking on Rt. 9 after midnight Thursday night.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ — An Old Bridge man was hit by cars and killed while walking on Rt. 9 after midnight Thursday night, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.

At 1:25 a.m. Friday, police responded to the area of Rt. 9 and Ferry Road for a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.

Upon their arrival, authorities located Harvey Berse, 69 of Old Bridge. Police say he had been struck by multiple cars. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Steven Connolly of the Old Bridge at 732-721-5600 ext. 3821 or Detective Jonathan Berman of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at (732) 745-4328.

Old Bridge Police referred all questions to the Middlesex County Prosecutor, who said they would be issuing a press release shortly. Usually the county prosecutor investigates all fatal accidents.
