Sayreville Police Investigate Robbery

SAYREVILLE, NJ — Sayreville Police are investigating a robbery that is very similar to one in South River, where ML Computer Repair shop was robbed at gunpoint by two masked men.

The South River repair shop was robbed Jan. 2, and a South River man is in custody.

At 6:46 p.m. Jan. 2, two masked suspects entered the business of ML Computer Repair, located at 34 Main Street in South River. One was armed with a handgun, the other with pepper spray. The men threatened a shop employee and sprayed him in the face with pepper spray before fleeing with cash and miscellaneous items.

Fernando Ramosgarcia, 30, of South River, was arrested Feb. 5 at a private home on Burton Avenue in South River. He was charged with first-degree robbery, third-degree aggravated assault and multiple weapons offenses. The other suspect is still at large.

This arrest was made by South River Police Detective Sergeant Kenneth Nale, who is working with Sayreville Police as they investigate a similar robbery that occurred after Jan. 2 in Sayreville.

The other suspect, pictured above, is still at large and anyone with information is urged to contact Nale at 732-254-9002, ext. 123.

“Our detective bureau conducted a thorough investigation from the outset, and their attention to detail was instrumental in this operation," said South River Police Chief Mark Tinitigan, also thanking the Middlesex County SORT (SWAT) unit. "This type of teamwork is critical to keeping our community safe."
