MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Dozens of cars were reported trapped in floodwater on Rts. 35 and 36 Thursday afternoon in Aberdeen, Keyport and Middletown.
Many parts of Belford are also flooded. In Matawan, Ravine Drive from Main Street to Matawan Avenue is closed as of 6 p.m due to flooding.
Many pockets of Middletown Township are also without electric power Thursday. The estimated restoration time is 7:30 p.m., say some Middletown homeowners, but Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) has the restoration time at 9:30 p.m. for other parts of town.
Farther south, about 1,000 JCP&L customers are without electricity in Wall Township and Belmar, according to JPCL's outage map.
Cars were captured on social media stalled out on the Garden State Parkway at the Rt. 9/35 interchange near exit 125 in the Parlin section of Sayreville at 2:20 p.m. Thursday, NJ.com reported.
