Local partners, including Peaceful Pines Residence and the Matawan-Aberdeen Public Library, will connect residents with services, caregiver support, and practical information to make navigating senior care less overwhelming.
2. Shore Sports Insider Football Top 12, Week Four (shoresportsinsider.com) — Shore Sports Insider's latest football Top 12 has Middletown North visiting Matawan this Friday, while Freehold Township is coming off a solid Class B North win over Matawan. The rankings highlight how local results, including Matawan's recent loss, are shaping divisional races and giving nearby teams chances to climb the standings in the coming week.
3. Spotlight Players presents "Murder at Blackwood Manor" - A Whodunit Mystery Fundraiser on October 7th (newjerseystage.com) — Matawan theater fans can join Spotlight Players for an interactive whodunit fundraiser, "Murder at Blackwood Manor," on Friday, Oct. 7, 2026, at 7 p.m. at 883 Route 34. Guests will question suspects, hunt for clues, and enjoy dessert while supporting the troupe's upcoming productions.
4. Monmouth County Man Sentenced to a Year and a Day in Prison for Defrauding Social Security Administration (justice.gov) — A 57-year-old Matawan resident has been sentenced in federal court to a year and a day in prison for defrauding the Social Security Administration of more than $585,000 in disability benefits. Prosecutors said he falsely claimed severe limitations for years while working as a funeral director and taking ski trips, and he must also pay restitution, a fine, and forfeit proceeds.
