Belmar, NJ - Are you going to the Belmar St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday?

The annual kickoff to spring (even thought it's often held among snowflakes), Belmar is New Jersey's largest St. Patrick's Day parade and launches an entire month of Irish-American festivities throughout New Jersey.

The parade starts off at 12:30 p.m. at North Lake Boulevard and Main Street in Lake Como. From there, the parade heads straight down Main Street to Fifth Avenue to the border of Avon-by-the-Sea.

Take the train to Belmar!

To celebrate the parade, NJ TRANSIT is offering extra rail service on the North Jersey Coast Line between Long Branch and Bay Head Sunday to accommodate parade-goers. Even better, kids 11 and younger travel free with each fare-paying adult.

Trains north of Long Branch will operate on a regular weekend schedule, but once you get off the platform at Long Branch, there will be additional trains to take you to Belmar: Eleven additional trips—five northbound and six southbound— have been added. Every train going to Bay Head stops at Belmar. Here is the train schedule with the extra trains added.

Alcoholic beverages will NOT be permitted on any train to and from Belmar. This policy will be strictly enforced, NJ Transit warns.
