Tula Yoga is one of the only studios in Central/Southern New Jersey to use an infrared heating system for its warm and hot yoga classes. Also called radiant heat, it is superior to traditional forced air heating systems in numerous ways. First and foremost is comfort. Instead of the uncomfortable stuffiness that you may experience in a room heated normally, infrared heat produces sun-like warmth that directly heats up the body rather than the surrounding air. Unlike traditional heating, there is no noise, no dust or germs circulating, and no odor, making for a more pleasant experience. A portion of the light emitted by the sun is also infrared, making it a form of heat the body is used to and can process easily.   Infrared heating also offers superior health benefits. Radiant heat penetrates the deepest layers of tissue, where it stimulates the body to release toxins, fat and other impurities through sweating; analysis has found that sweat resulting from infrared heat contained 20 percent toxins, compared to three percent from traditional heat. This safe, internal heating of the body can also stimulate immune function, increase blood flow, improve skin tone, texture and elasticity, ease joint and muscle pain, and break up cellulite deposits. Infrared heating is safe, offers deeper health benefits and will maximize the results of a hot yoga practice.
