PRESERVATION AND HISTORIC RESTORATION:

The Matawan Historical Society has undertaken the daunting task of repairing Burrowes Mansion as the mansion is in dire need of extensive repairs. The cedar roof that was replaced in 1993 was supposed to last 30 years and is failing and needs replaced again. This task is of the utmost importance as the roof protects the mansion and the history that it holds. The exterior facade of the mansion also requires extensive repairs as well as painting.
