Car Stolen In Aberdeen Saturday Night, March 31
A Laurie Lane resident said his 2018 Audi S3 was stolen sometime overnight this past Saturday, March 31. More from the police blotter:

ABERDEEN, NJ — This past Saturday night, March 31, a resident of Laurie Lane reported that sometime during the night someone stole his 2018 Audi S3. This comes the same weekend four cars total were stolen in Holmdel and Colts Neck.
"It’s very possible," the thefts are related, Aberdeen police Chief John Powers told Patch on Friday. "Laurie Lane is off of Line Road, which borders Holmdel. We were advised last night that the vehicle was recovered in Newark."

- P.O. Mohamed Mahmoud arrested a 30-year-old Aberdeen Township man on a contempt warrant out of Manalapan municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Lloyd Rd. on March 24.
- A 32-year-old Township man was arrested on contempt warrants out of Aberdeen, Old Bridge, Sayreville, Roselle, and Perth Amboy municipal courts following an incident on County Rd. on March 24. P.O. Darryl Richardson was the arresting officer.
- P.O. Ronald Osadacz arrested a 19-year-old Newark man on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on March 26.
- A 43-year-old Hazlet man was charged with shoplifting following an incident at the Stop and Shop store on Hwy. 34 on March 28. Sgt. Raymond Sosa was the arresting officer.
- P.O. Heather Dillon arrested a 23-year-old Orange man on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on March 29.
- A 21-year-old Township man was charged with simple assault and criminal mischief following an incident on Woodman Place on March 31. P.O. Frank Maisano was the arresting officer.
- James V. Thomas, Jr., 69, Manchester, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, refusal to submit to a breath test, possession of an open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, and driving an uninsured vehicle following a motor vehicle stop on Hwy. 35 on April 1. He was also found to be wanted on a contempt warrant out of Berkeley Township municipal court. P.O. Mohammed Mahmoud was the arresting officer.
Other police activity during that period included:
- On March 22 a male subject took several electronic toothbrushes and other items from the CVS store on South Atlantic Ave. and fled with a female accomplice in a two-door Mazda Tribute. P.O. Darryl Richardson investigated.
- On March 27 a resident of Lower Main St. reported that sometime in the last few months someone entered his vehicle and took a large amount of change. P.O. Matthew McDow took the report.
- On March 31 a resident of Laurie Lane reported that sometime during the night someone stole his 2018 Audi S3. P.O. Darryl Richardson took the report.
- On March 31 a resident of Stemler Drive reported that he was selling an item online and that the purchaser sent him a check in an amount significantly more than the purchase price, with instructions for the seller to deposit the check and do a Walmart money transfer for an amount minus the purchase price. After doing so, the seller found that the check was fraudulent. P.O. Frank Maisano took the report.
- Officers responded to 16 motor vehicle crashes between March 21 and April 3 at the following locations: Bechstein Dr., Hwy. 35/Cliffwood Ave., Lloyd Rd./ Line Rd., Lloyd Rd./Fordham Dr., Prospect Ave./Beverly Dr., Hwy. 34/Wyndham Rd., Hwy. 34/Whispering Way, Noble Pl., Warren Dr./Woodman Pl., North Conc., Cliffwood Ave./Pond St., Atlantic Ave./Little St., and Prospect Ave. The remainder of the crashes were on private property or shopping centers.
Officers responded to or initiated 678 calls for service between March 21 and April 3, 2018, including 27 suspicious persons/vehicles; 28 alarms; 31 first aid calls; six domestic violence incidents, six noise complaints, three disorderly persons, one criminal mischief incident, one burglary, nine thefts, 16 motor vehicle crashes, six frauds, five welfare checks, seven crisis intervention calls, and 186 motor vehicle stops. Officers issued 149 summonses.
