Conquering the Stigma of Mental Illness and Suicide
April 19th Program Addresses Bullying, Mental Illness and Suicide

The Caring Committee of Temple Shalom, along with other representatives of the Bayshore Ministerium are co-sponsoring the program “Conquering the Stigma of Mental Illness and Suicide” on Sunday, April 19th from 12:30 pm until 3:00 pm. The program will take place at Temple Shalom, 5 Ayrmont Lane in Aberdeen. The program is free and open to the entire community. This program is appropriate for teens and adults.
The program will open with a welcome and a light lunch followed by the keynote speakers and a panel discussion that will include a Q and A period.
The keynote speakers are Trish and Kurt Baker who founded the organization Attitudes in Reverse (AIR) after losing their son to suicide in May 2009. AIR offers a positive campaign to start the conversation about mental health, suicide prevention, and anti-bullying.

They will be joined on the panel by Kelly McMahon Brown, President of the New Jersey Association of Student Assistance Professionals; Maryanne Krenz, board member of the Central NJ Chapter of American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and Tery Gerard Michaud, MSW, LCSW, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and member of Holmdel Community United Church of Christ
