Cross of Glory to Hold Its Tree Lighting and Carol Sing Dec. 14
Join your friends and neighbors in ringing in the Christmas season with food, merriment and song

DEC. 8, 2014 Aberdeen, NJ — Christmas cheer will be in abundant supply when the congregation of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church invites the Aberdeen and Matawan communities to its seventh annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Carol Sing, to be held rain or shine at 5 pm on Dec. 14, at 95 Cambridge Drive.
On top of carol-singing and lighting the church’s Christmas tree, this year Cross of Glory plans to introduce a new addition to the church’s nativity scene on the front lawn. Revelers are then invited into Fellowship Hall to enjoy home baked sweets and pastries alongside other refreshments provided by Delicious Orchards and Dearborn Market. The tree will remain lit every night through the 2014 holiday season.
“Come one come all to our joyous celebration,” invites Jeremy Samuelson, longtime head of Cross of Glory’s tree lighting committee. “Though we are there primarily to honor the birth of Jesus Christ, we sing everyone’s favorite secular Christmas songs with gusto—especially our rendition of ‘12 Days of Christmas’. We follow that with the tree lighting, then it’s back into our Fellowship Hall for the goodies.”
