Cross of Glory's 10th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting & Carol Sing
Christmas song, food and spirit will be in plentiful supply for the entire community
As it has done for the last nine years, the congregation of Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Aberdeen will swing its doors open to the entire Aberdeen community and beyond to celebrate Christmas through song and merriment. Christmas cheer will be in abundant supply at Cross of Glory’s 10th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting and Carol Sing, to be held on Dec. 10 at 5:00 PM. (rain or shine) at 95 Cambridge Drive.
A perfect way to herald the Christmas season, the evening starts with carol-singing and lighting of the Christmas tree and Nativity on the church’s front yard, followed by a smorgasbord of home baked sweets and pastries alongside other refreshments provided by Delicious Orchards and Dearborn Market in our Fellowship Hall. The tree will remain lit every night through the 2017 holiday season.
“Come one come all to our joyous celebration,” invites Jeremy Samuelson, longtime head of Cross of Glory’s tree lighting committee. “Though we gather primarily to honor the birth of Jesus Christ, we sing everyone’s favorite secular Christmas songs with gusto—especially our participatory rendition of ‘12 Days of Christmas’. We follow that with the tree lighting, then it’s back into our Fellowship Hall for the goodies."
