Dogs at the Beach!

As summer draws to an end, many of us are bringing our families to the beach.  If you are able to bring your canine family member to a dog-friendly beach, here are some things to keep in mind.

1.  Make sure you have plenty of fresh water.  Your dog (and you!) need to stay hydrated.

2.  Locate a place with shade or bring an umbrella so there is an area where your dog can get out of the sun.

3.  Bring a blanket or towel for your dog.  The sand is hot on their paws.

4.  Do not let your dog drink salt water.  Salt water is also not good for your dog's coat so make sure you rinse them off if they swim or romp in the ocean.

5.  Watch your dog at all times and be considerate of others.

Let your dog have fun digging or playing fetch.  They love the simple things and just spending time with you!
