Driver Charged With DWI, Cell Phone Use After Aberdeen Crash, Cops Say

A driver from Marlboro hit a construction barrel, drove across a lawn and hit a mailbox and a tree in Aberdeen, police said.

Aberdeen police charged Yelena Krushelnitskaya, 37, of Sheffield Court, Marlboro, with driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test, reckless driving, use of a cell phone while driving, and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

She crashed her 2014 Lexus around 1:35 a.m. Sunday, according to a news release from Chief John T. Powers.

She had been driving east on Lloyd Road, but as she crossed the intersection with Church Street, the vehicle left the road and crashed, police said.

Krushelnitskaya suffered some abrasions, but refused medical treatment, according to Powers.

She was released, pending a municipal court appearance.
