OLD BRIDGE, NJ — A family dog died in a fire Thursday in Old Bridge, according to acting Old Bridge Police Chief Joe Mandola.
The three-alarm fire broke out just past 6 p.m. in a private home on the 100 block of Wilcox Court in Old Bridge. The residents had left the home shortly before the fire started, said police.
When police and firefighters got there, they found nobody inside, but they did find the family dog had died inside the home. Police say the fire is believed to have started accidentally in the garage.
