Would you like to spice up your menus with something new from your garden? In this talk, learn about some old-and-forgotten, new but out-of-the ordinary and just plain oddball fruits and vegetables that you can grow in your Monmouth County garden for fun and eating pleasure. This talk will be presented by Master Gardener, John Eaves.

Early Detection is the best prevention. In this workshop, you will learn about some of the most common cancers found in women & men. We will cover topics concerning breast, cervical, colorectal, and prostate cancers. Learn how you can get screened to possibly find cancer before it’s too late. Cancer screenings are available to uninsured and underinsured men & women in Monmouth County. This workshop will be presented by a representative from the Visiting Nurses Association.

Join us for our second annual Poetry Night!

Matawan resident, Bob McKenty’s funny poems have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Reader’s Digest, and many other publications. Mr. McKenty will recite selections from his collection for about twenty minutes and then we will have an open mic session so members of the community can showcase their creative talents. You are invited to share a poem you have written or to read one from your favorite poet. Or just join us to listen and encourage others.

We’ll make it a special event with refreshments for all to enjoy. Refreshments will be provided by Atrium Post Acute Care of Matawan.
