Friday, December 8 @ 7 pm – After Hours Program: Raconteur Radio presents A Christmas Carol
Raconteur Radio performs live dramas in the style of a radio play for audiences across the state. They’ll be performing a rendition of Dickens’ holiday classic complete with costumes, props, and sound effects. We’ll serve light refreshments for a complete festive experience. Refreshments are generously sponsored by Atrium Post Acute Care of Matawan.
Saturday, December 9 @ 2 pm – Dress Up Your Holiday Table
Learn sewing basics while making an easy to sew table runner that will look good for the holidays and throughout the winter season. No sewing experience needed. Each participant will make and take home a table runner.
Participants must be at least 18 years-old and a Matawan Aberdeen library cardholder.
Sunday, December 10 @ 2 pm – Lincoln Center Movies Presents: George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker
Experience the wonder of New York City Ballet’s iconic holiday classic on the big screen. In George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker®, Tchaikovsky’s beloved melodies transport the young and young at heart to a magical world where mischievous mice besiege a battalion of toy soldiers, and an onstage blizzard leads to an enchanted Land of Sweets. Balanchine’s stunning choreography shines amidst awe-inspiring set pieces, ornate costumes, and grand one-of-a-kind visual effects, like the one-ton Christmas tree that grows to an astonishing 40 feet.
Run time is 100 minutes.
All ages welcome!

Monday, December 11 @ 7 pm – Smart Home Basics
“Smart Home” technology is one of the hottest trends in home improvement, allowing for customizing and improving living spaces for security, convenience, and even energy savings. This discussion-style class will go over what makes up a smart home, the costs involved, and how you can get started in upgrading your own house!
Thursday, December 14 @ 11 am – Yoga Basics
This class is great for the beginner or experienced student as we give variations for all levels. Focusing on movement integrating breath, awareness, and alignment you will build strength, focus, flexibility, and balance for both mind and body. The class will be taught by Tula Yoga instructor, Jennifer Cavalieri. Please bring your own yoga mat or large towel.
Must be at least 18 years-old and a MAPL cardholder to participate.

Thursday, December 14 @ 1:30 pm – Chair Yoga
Interested in learning yoga, but have difficulty getting down on the floor? Now you too can enjoy all the benefits of yoga without having to get on a mat. You will learn many yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation while seated in a chair. The class will be taught by Danielle Meany, RYT. All levels welcome. No experience or equipment is necessary.
Must be at least 18 years-old and a MAPL cardholder to participate.
Sunday, December 17 @ 2 pm – Lavender Sachet Craft
Lavender sachets can be used to protect against moths or to impart a lovely fragrance to clothes in a drawer. Some people heat them and use them for relaxing compresses.
This craft will combine simple sewing techniques using both a machine and by hand. Lavender buds and rice infused with lavender essential oil make a sachet whose fragrance will last.
Participants must be at least 18 years-old and a Matawan Aberdeen library cardholder.
Thursday, December 21 @ 2 pm – Color Me Calm for Adults
Need a break from the holiday frenzy? Studies show coloring can have a calming effect on the adult mind which helps promote overall wellness. Stop by anytime between 2 – 5 pm to unwind, color, enjoy a relaxing beverage and listen to some meditative music. Everything will be provided!
