Thursday, June 1 @ 7 pm – Music: West African Kora
Sean Gaskell will give a performance and educational demonstration on the Kora, an ancient 21-stringed harp from West Africa. He will feature traditional songs that are the heart and soul of the Kora’s musical repertoire in addition to some of his own personal compositions. Gaskell has been featured at numerous festivals in the US, Gambia, and Senegal. Join us for an opportunity to hear this unique instrument!

We will explore the reasons to move, overcoming the fear of moving to a new environment, and how to manage the years of accumulated stuff, treasures and trash. We’ll also talk about how to find the help you need including family, friends and professionals. If you or your older loved ones have come to the realization that it’s time to downsize to a smaller home or place, come and learn the next steps so you can move in the right direction.

Interested in learning yoga, but have difficulty getting down on the floor? Now you too can enjoy all the benefits of yoga without having to get on a mat. You will learn many yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation while seated in a chair. The class will be taught by Danielle Meany, RYT. All levels welcome. No experience or equipment is necessary.
Sunday, June 11 @ 3 pm – Lincoln Center Screenings: Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell
Emmylou’s stirring silver-voiced interpretations of traditional and contemporary songs changed the sound of country. Crowell has redefined the genre’s songwriting, penning and performing some of the music’s best-loved songs. Together again, the long-time bandmates and Grammy-winning duo unite their strengths, uniting roots and fresh approaches.
Monday, June 12 @ 7 pm – Microsoft Office 2013: The Essentials
Learn the basics you need to get started with Microsoft Office! This hands-on class will focus on working with the Ribbon, the powerful toolbar that is used throughout all Office products to provide easy access to the most common functions. We will then take a brief look into the specialties of individual Office products, including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.

Do you dream of seeing the country by train? Join us for this presentation featuring a historical profile of the passenger carrier, along with notable routes, travel tips, on board dining, ticketing options, recent accomplishments (Positive Train Control), and ongoing projects (the new NY Penn Station).

Monday, June 19 @ 7 pm – The Write Time: A Creative Writing Group
The purpose of The Write Time is to spend moments sharing fun ideas in the form of creative writing. We will encourage one another to use gifts /talents to explore this process. The group will enjoy such activities as interactive word plays and storytelling. The group will meet the third Monday of each month. Everyone is welcome!
Thursday, June 22 @ 11 am – Yoga Basics
This class is great for the beginner or experienced student as we give variations for all levels. Focusing on movement integrating breath, awareness, and alignment you will build strength, focus, flexibility, and balance for both mind and body. The class will be taught by Tula Yoga instructor, Jennifer Cavalieri. Please bring your own Yoga mat or large towel. Must be at least 18 years-old to participate.
Thursday, June 29 @ 7 pm – The Universe & An All American Total Eclipse
Explore the universe in this virtual journey throughout the cosmos. Learn about the mysteries of eclipses and other celestial events before a total solar eclipse takes place this summer. Following the indoor presentation, attendees are invited to go outdoors to view celestial objects in the sky (such as the ice crystal rings of Saturn, craters on the Moon, etc.) through a powerful hand-crafted telescope, weather permitting. This event is presented by astronomer Kevin Manning and is suitable for patrons 12 years-old and up.
