Come and participate in this meditative form of exercise which is associated with both spiritual and health benefits. This monthly class will be taught by Al Chuderski. No prior experience is needed, just wear comfortable clothing.

Participants must be at least 18 years-old and preference will be given to Matawan Aberdeen card holders.

Thursday, October 4, 11, 18, and 25 @ 7 pmBeginners Spanish Conversation for Adults

This is a class for beginners. We will offer an intermediate level class in 2019.

Being able to speak Spanish is a better way to communicate when you travel and being bilingual can make you more competitive in the workplace. In this eight week program for native English speakers, you will have the opportunity to practice listening and speaking with a native Spanish speaker in a small group setting.

Participants should be able to commit to attending all classes.

Classes will meet on 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, 11/8, 11/15 and 11/29 (no class on 11/22).

Participants must be at least 18 years-old and preference will be given to MAPL card holders.

Saturday, October 6 @ 2 pm Autumn Wreath Craft Class

Add a touch of autumn to your front door, fireplace mantel or wall with a handmade wreath. Each participant will decorate an 18 inch grapevine wreath adorned with rich fall colored leaves, mums, and ribbon. During this program you will be given step by step guidance from start to finish. All materials will be provided by the library.

Participants must be at least 18 years-old and preference will be given to Matawan Aberdeen card holders.

Python as a programming language offers many tools for users to create all sorts of different programs. This hands-on workshop class will help you to learn some of the more advanced tools that Python provides to create programs.

This class is for anyone 13 years or older.

Basic understanding of Python is recommended.

Interested in learning yoga, but have difficulty getting down on the floor? Now you too can enjoy all the benefits of yoga without having to get on a mat. You will learn many yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation while seated in a chair. The class will be taught by Danielle Meany, RYT. All levels welcome. No experience or equipment is necessary.

Participants must be at least 18 years-old and preference will be given to Matawan Aberdeen card holders.

Sunday, October 21 @ 1 pmIchabod Crane, Washington Irving and the Legend of Sleepy Hollow

Actor Neill Hartley presents an all new adaptation of this classic horror story written by Washington Irving. The interactive one-man interpretation of the story of the headless horseman draws the audience into the schoolmaster’s world in sleepy Tarry Town. The program, followed by discussion about this 19th century author who also wrote Rip Van Winkle, ends with a dramatic reading of the story’s postscript.

This Public Scholars Program, funded by the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, is presented by actor, director, spokesperson and teacher Neill Hartley. Mr. Hartley has performed with Arden Theater, InterAct Theatre, and the Philadelphia Shakespeare Festival, among others.

This class is great for the beginner or experienced student as we give variations for all levels. Focusing on movement integrating breath, awareness, and alignment you will build strength, focus, flexibility, and balance for both mind and body. The class will be taught by yoga instructor, Carrie Palamara. Please bring your own yoga mat or large towel.

Must be at least 18 years-old to participate.

Eryn is a New Jersey-based blues and soul singer-guitarist with a retropop twist. She began performing publicly in her early teens and has since gone on to share the stage with artists including Gregg Allman, Don Mclean and the Gin Blossoms. She has been nominated for, and won, numerous awards over the years and, in 2016, she became the youngest-ever inductee of the NJ Blues Hall of Fame.
