Sunday, July 10 @ 1 PM and 3 PM – Movie: 12 Days of Terror

July 1916 was a time of record heat, a polio epidemic, and a World War in Europe. But beach-goers in New Jersey are threatened by an even greater terror: a shark that has suddenly developed a taste for human flesh. Starting July 1st and lasting over a period of 12 days, the unidentified shark kills four people and seriously injures a fifth before the attacks stop, and threatens New Jersey's thriving tourist industry. Based on true events.

Monday, July 11 @ 7 PM - Fins & Scales

Patrons of all ages are invited to attend a Jenkinson’s Aquarium presentation on ocean life. Staff from the aquarium will talk about sharks, fish and more! The Jersey Shore Shark Attacks of 1916 will also be discussed.

This event will take place at the Matawan Community Center. To attend, you will need to come to the library to pick up your FREE TICKETS.

Thursday, July 21 @ 6:30 PM – The Beatles: From Liverpool to Abbey Road

Follow in the footsteps of The Beatles as they embark on their historic journey starting from their early days as a cover band in Liverpool and Hamburg, into the excitement of Beatlemania, thru their creative ground breaking studio albums (Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt Peppers) to the formation of Apple Corps and finally to their remarkable final recordings at Abbey Road Studios.

Monday, July 25 @ 7 PM – Lighthouses

Learn the history of lighthouses, how they were built and how they work, and hear stories of some of the brave men and women who tended the lights. The program is illustrated with original photographs of lighthouses along the East Coast, the Hudson River, Long Island Sound, and the Great Lakes.

Thursday, July 28 @ 11 AM – Yoga Basics

This class is great for the beginner or experienced student as we give variations for all levels. Focusing on movement integrating breath, awareness and alignment, you will build strength, focus, flexibility, and balance for both mind and body. This class will be taught by Tula Yoga instructor, Jennifer Cavalieri. Please bring your own Yoga mat or large towel. Must be at least 16 years-old to participate.

Thursday, July 28 @ 7 PM – Silhouette Cameo Craft for Adults

Watch how a Silhouette Cameo takes computer generated designs and quickly cuts them on paper so you can create fun art. After the demonstration we’ll create some paper flower art for you to take home. Must be at least 18 years-old and have a Matawan Aberdeen library card. Registration is required, class size is limited.
