Monday, August 6 A Quiet Place
In the modern horror thriller A QUIET PLACE, a family of four must navigate their lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound threaten their survival. If they hear you, they hunt you. Critic Peter Rainer says, “At a brisk 90 minutes, it's one of the most inventive and beautifully crafted and acted horror movies I've seen in a very long time, and I think the main reason for its power is the family crisis at its core.” He is echoed by James Berardinelli who says, “A Quiet Place is a superb exercise in understated terror that puts to shame ‘horror’ films that rely on jump scares and cheap theatrics.”

Starring: John Krasinski, Emily Blunt
Release Year: 2018
Rating: PG-13 (for terror and some bloody images)
Running Time: 90 Minutes

Monday, August 13Ready Player One
In the year 2045, people can escape their harsh reality in the OASIS, an immersive virtual world where you can go anywhere, do anything, be anyone. OASIS creator James Halliday left his immense fortune and control of the Oasis to the winner of a contest designed to find a worthy heir. When unlikely hero Wade Watts conquers the first challenge of the reality-bending treasure hunt, he and his friends-known as the High Five-are hurled into a fantastical universe of discovery and danger to save the OASIS and their world. Ready Player One is a sweetly nostalgic thrill ride that neatly encapsulates Spielberg's strengths while adding another solidly engrossing adventure to his filmography.
