MATAWAN, NJ — Looking for a spooky, educational Halloween activity? Get your tickets now for the annual Ghost Walk of Historic Matawan.
Presented every year by the Matawan Historical Society, the walks will be Friday, Oct. 27 and Saturday, Oct. 28. The tours leave at two times on those evenings, at 7 p.m. and again at 8:30 p.m. The walk includes chilling stories about some of the businesses and private homes along Main Street in historic Matawan. The evening begins with a short presentation at Burrowes Mansion, which will include stories about the ghosts of the mansion. According to tour guides, all of their ghost stories are 100 percent true! The tour includes a stop inside Bedel Funeral Home, where attendees will have the unique opportunity to view antique funeral items that have never before been on display.
The entire tour will cover approximately one mile (round-trip ) and last about two hours. This event WILL sell out, so please do not wait to buy your tickets! Light refreshments will be served. The tours will be held rain or shine! In the event of severe weather, the tours will be canceled.
NOTES:
• Children under the age of 13 will not be permitted to attend the tours. Some of the subject matter being discussed may be too intense for some people. All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
• Tickets will NOT be available at the event.
