Hazlet Boy Scout Troop Volunteers at Garden

Troop 137 Volunteers at Temple Shalom Community Garden

Members of Boy Scout Troop 137 of Hazlet were volunteer workers at the Temple Shalom of Aberdeen’s Gan Tikvah (Garden of Hope) community vegetable garden recently. With leader Joe Horan, the scouts performed the cleanup of the garden so that the garden is now ready for planting in the spring.

Gan Tikvah provides donations of vegetables to the Matawan United Methodist Church food pantry during the summer. The garden is completely organic and produces crops including lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, eggplant and zucchini. Volunteers of all ages are always welcome to work in the garden. For more information contact Lenore Robinson at paullenrob@verizon.net or 732-264-2458. Temple Shalom is located at 5 Ayrmont Lane in Aberdeen.
