'Highly Intoxicated' Woman Arrested at Matawan Train Station

MATAWAN, NJ - A woman who police are calling "highly intoxicated" was arrested last Saturday, March 25 at the Matawan-Aberdeen train station.

"The individual was highly intoxicated and disorderly," said Aberdeen police Chief John Powers. The 21-year-old Point Pleasant woman was charged with disorderly conduct. It is not known if she was attending any of the area St. Patrick's Day parades on March 25.

  • On March 25 a 55-year-old township man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Matawan municipal court following an incident at Strathmore Gardens on South Atlantic Ave.
  • On March 26 a 20-year-old township man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court.
  • On March 26 a 19-year-old Sayreville man was arrested for simple assault related to an incident on South Concourse on March 23.
  • Ryerson J. Wood-Fouts, 27, Howell, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (anabolic steroids) following a motor vehicle stop on Line Rd. on March 27.

Other police activity during that period included:

  • On March 22 a resident of Idlebrook Lane reported someone attempted to file a fraudulent federal tax return using his identity.
  • P.O. Michael Plant responded to a report of harassment at Ken Gardens, Matawan Ave. on March 22.
  • On March 23 building materials valued at almost $6,000 were reported taken from a construction site on Atlantic Ave. sometime between March 9 and March 23.
  • On March 23 a Cliffwood Ave. resident reported someone cashed two fraudulent checks drawn on her account.
  • Two male subjects took a case of Red Bull from the WAWA store on Hwy. 35 on March 24. When approached by a manager they dropped the case and fled in a green or blue four-door sedan. The subjects are described as white males, one wearing a camouflage jacket and the other wearing blue and black camouflage pants.
  • On March 25 an Avondale Lane resident reported someone entered his garage and took two envelopes containing an amount of cash.
  • On March 25 a resident of Pinehurst Drive reported the fraudulent use of her debit card.
  • P.O.s Hank Chevalier and John Young responded to an Edgeview Road home on a report of an overdose on March 26. The officers administered Narcan and revived the subject who was then transported to Bayshore Community Hospital.
  • On March 26 a Jersey Ave. resident reported someone used his identity to open a cellular telephone account.
  • P.O. Anthony Marone responded to a report of harassment at the Shop Rite store, Lloyd Rd. on March 26.
