Hundreds Gather at St. Clement to Honor the Memory of 9/11 Victims
The ceremony was held at the 9/11 memorial in front of the church, following the Saturday afternoon mass.
Hundreds of residents gathered at the Roman Catholic Church of St. Clement in Matawan Saturday for a mass and ceremony honoring victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Family members of those who perished that day ten years ago were seated at the front of the gathering, while the church's memorial was blessed. Flags were held and firemen and police officers saluted while the Matawan Regional High School choir sang the Star Spangled Banner, followed by the church choir's performance of God Bless America and other songs expressing hope for peace in the world.
