Sayreville Man Shot His Wife, Then Himself, Authorities Say

SAYREVILLE, NJ — A man and a woman, a married couple, were found dead in their Sayreville home Friday, and the Middlesex County Prosecutor said the case is being investigated as a murder-suicide.

Officers found the bodies of Kelly Iatauro, 46, and Christopher Iatauro, 52, at their home on Glynn Court in Sayreville on Friday, July 3, said a spokeswoman for the Middlesex County Prosecutor.

Both were dead from gunshot wounds.

The woman was found dead inside the home. The body of her husband Chris was found in the home's backyard.

Authorities suspect he shot her and then shot himself.

This is being investigated as a murder suicide, and Christopher is being investigated as the shooter, said a spokeswoman for the prosecutor.

Iatauro worked as a special agent with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, records from 2019 and 2020 show, NJ101.5 reported.

Their bodies were found at about 8 p.m. Friday. Sayreville Police were telling people on Facebook to avoid Glynn Court between Deerfield and Scarlet drives.
