Huskies Field Hockey Wins Over Manchester, Next Stop States
First half of game played largely on offense for Huskies
The Matawan Huskies Field Hockey team won 4-1 over the Manchester Hawks during their last regular season game Monday afternoon.
Prior to the start, the ten graduating seniors were announced and gathered on the field with their parents. Although this was not their last game as a team, it was their last home game during the regular season.
The first half of the game at Barry Rizzo Stadium was played largely on offense for the Huskies, with Stephanie Boucher scoring two goals and leading the team into half-time with a 2-0 score.

The Huskies came back out ready to play, but couldn't hold the Hawks at zero. They scored just minutes into the second half, bringing the score to 2-1 until Boucher scored for a third time. Cory Denino then upped the score to 4-1, where the defense would hold the Hawks for the remainder of the game.
"We were strong," said Head Coach Devenn Williams. "Our seniors came in ready to play."
