Remember: even though your dog or cat has fur, it is no guarantee that they will be warm enough if left outside during cold weather. Bring them in the house with you. If you are unable to do so, state law mandates that they be provided with “proper food, drink, shelter or protection from the weather” [NJSA 4:22-26].

If you see a pet left outside in the cold with no shelter, food or water, please call the local police department.
