Jersey Shore Huskies travel teams come up big last weekend. JSH 16u comes in 1st, JSH 12u comes in 2nd and JSH 14u comes in 3rd.
June 25-26, 2016 - The Jersey Shore Huskies organization can be very proud of their teams as they all played very well last weekend.
The 16u team playing in the Shore Crush Tournament posted a 6-0 record in route to winning the championship game on Sunday. The 16u team came out firing on all cylinders as their pitching held opposing batters and the offense sparked each games victories. All the players contributed defensively...awesome games!!!
The 12u ’03 team played in the State USSSA Championship and earned a second seed bye on Saturday by posting a 3-0 record winning against teams such as the CJ A’s and NJ Heat. The 12u team limited teams to only four runs on Saturday. On championship Sunday, solid pitching continued as they won their quarter and semifinal giving up only 1 run. They played a tough SJ Gators team who were able to capitalize and scored more runs. The Huskies ended up with a 5-1 record. Great job Huskies!!!

The 14u team played in the USSSA Pride in Diamond at Rockaway Township. Saturday pool play for the Huskies started out rough as they lost their first two games. The 14u players never gave up even as they were losing the second game and by the start of the third game, the atmosphere changed in the dugout. You can see they wanted to win this one. The momentum carried over to Championship Sunday as all the players were ready to go. The 1st game was against a very good Cheetah’s team. The Huskies had the lead momentarily but the Cheetah’s tied up the game at the end of regulation. Both teams played two international tie-breakers for 2 hours and 20 minutes and Huskies eventually won 9-7. The next game vs. North Brunswick was a slug-fest with each side homering over the fence and combined for 35 hits. The 14u Huskies made it all the way to the semi-finals and losing to the eventual champions, OC Bombers, and coming in 3rd overall with a respectable 3-3 record. Way to come back Huskies!!!
Notes: The 12u ’04 team continues to play hard and keep improving. The Jersey Shore Huskies affiliate AMYAA had a tryout for the town travel team and now have two teams in the 8U and 10U Division. Good Luck to all the younger Huskies as they prepare to play summer ball!!!
