Jersey Shore Huskies Players Earn Varsity Letter

Varsity Letters

2017 - The Jersey Shore Huskies Fast-Pitch Travel Softball Organization congratulates its current players for receiving their varsity letter as freshmen. Their hard work, commitment, and dedication to the game as travel players transitioned into their respective schools and contributed to the team’s success.

Red Bank Regional needed a boost in their softball program and were able to count on two tremendous Huskies players. Maggie Watson, a pitcher (and infield), will provide RBR an experience hurler in the next couple of years, and not to mention power with her bat. Katie Jensen will provide RBR a utility player that can play almost anywhere on the field (except for pitching, maybe) and make an impact. She is fast and a spark-plug in any lineup. Casey Morrison made a significant contribution to her team, Woodbridge High School, playing in all of the games. Casey provided a steady bat in the line-up which placed her on the 1st team Greater Middlesex Conference. Bridget Corpus played in Matawan’s last 12 games, including a “huge” game-tying double against Donovan Catholic (then #1 in NJ and #17 in the country) in which MRHS went on to upset the top-rank team.

As part of the Jersey Shore Huskies Travel Organization, Maggie, Casey, Katie, Bridget and the rest of the Huskies players prove day in and day out that there is no substitute in hard-work and commitment. As freshmen in high school, this task alone was daunting and to play softball at a high level takes perseverance. Congratulations ladies on your accolades, you all deserve (and earned) your varsity letter.
