A 19-year-old jet skier was rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard near Sandy Hook early Wednesday morning, according to published reports.
Dylan Gowan of Highlands was found just before 7 a.m. Wednesday, according to WABC news.
He was expected to leave a marina in New York, near the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge Tuesday night, but when he did not return to his home, the search began, the television station reported.

The Coast Guard told News 12 New Jersey that the teen was found hanging on to a buoy.
His family believes he hit rocks during his trip between New York and New Jersey and the jet ski sank, News 12 reported.

He was taken to Riverview Hospital in Red Bank for treatment, News 12 said.
