The bridge will be closed one lane in each direction during that time to restripe the roadway and set up a construction barrier. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction.
Then, starting at 6 a.m. Saturday, the westbound side of the bridge will be closed with one lane of traffic in each direction maintained on the eastbound side of the bridge. This new traffic pattern is necessary for the demolition and reconstruction of the westbound bridge deck, and is expected to be in place through fall 2022.
