Keyport Yacht Club Participates in Global Sailing Event on June 25th

On June 25, 2017, the Keyport Yacht Club (KYC) will hold a community open house to join sailors around the world in a global celebration of sailing called “Summer Sailstice” on the weekend closest to the summer solstice.

The Keyport Yacht Club will celebrate by inviting current and prospective sailors to the club located at 115 First Street, Keyport, NJ. Visitors can take a tour of the clubhouse and hear first-hand from KYC members about sailing lessons for kids and adults, cruising on the Raritan Bay and beyond, and sailboat racing. The day will include a mini introduction to sailing and a sight-seeing ride through the fleet on the club’s two launches. Weather permitting, club members will host visits on their sailboats at their moorings and share their personal stories about sailing and club life.

The NY/NJ Baykeeper is also participating in this event and will have educational displays to show how the oysters and natural seagrasses that are returning to the bay can clarify our water, protect our shores, and enrich wildlife. Their classic wooden workboat, "Baykeeper" will also be on hand for rides.

The event runs from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m at 115 First Street in Keyport, NJ. Visitors who want to go aboard sailboats should register in advance to ensure there will be sufficient boats available:
