LGBTQ Rights: Today's Issues

Temple Shalom Hosts December 15th Program on LGBTQ Issues

Today our families, schools, religious institutions, communities and courts are all affected by what is happening in the LGBTQ world. On Monday evening, December 15 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, Temple Shalom, 5 Ayrmont Lane in Aberdeen will host a program on these issues. This program is open to the public.

Andrea Bowen, Executive Director of Garden State Equality will be the keynote speaker. Andrea “Andy” Bowen has been a successful transgender activist and social worker in the Washington DC area. Andy is currently working with several school districts in the state to help make school systems free of harassment, intimidation and bullying.

The program will also feature Louise Walpin and Marsha Shapiro, nicknamed “the faces of marriage equality” by the New Jersey media last year as they were plaintiffs in the Lambda legal case which won marriage equality for NJ.
