Living A Healthier Lifestyle Is Easy For People Of All Ages With Opening of SALAD Jazz in Middletown
New restaurant in Middletown offers over four dozen fresh salad combinations and shows that 'being green' is delicious and healthy

SALAD Jazz, a cafe-style restaurant offering fresh salads and softly-playing jazz music, has opened at 1060 Highway 35 South in Middletown, N.J. 07748, next to Work Out World. With the slogan “We Chop, You Jazz,” SALAD Jazz provides customers with the opportunity to eat healthy by building their own salads. Choices include a variety of greens, such as kale, and proteins which form the base of the salads. Customers choose the type of greens they want, then continue to create and build the salad of their choice with the addition of ‘toss-ins’ and dressings. The salad is then chopped, which releases and blends all of the flavors. There are over 4 dozen choices to build salads including a variety of cheeses, nuts, beans, vegetables, grains like quinoa and raisin quinoa, tuna, Asian noodles and pasta including tri-color rotini and pasta wheels, grilled chicken, eggs and fruits along with 20 different dressings including fat-free selections. Fresh chicken is grilled on the premises daily and is never frozen. To encourage children to make healthier eating choices, SALAD Jazz also offers a ‘Junior Jazz’ version of salads. A variety of wraps and soups are also offered on the menu.
The telephone number for SALAD Jazz is (732) 856-9455. Store hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m, and Saturday from 12 Noon to 4 p.m. SALAD Jazz is closed on Sunday.

SALAD Jazz is owned by Emily Imperiale, a Marlboro resident who is a former chef at Wegmans. Imperiale was raised in the Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn and took inspiration from her parents, who were immigrants from Naples, Italy, for setting an example of success. Her father was the founder of Red Moon Pizza in 1968 and eventually expanded the enterprise to multiple locations. “My parents were immigrants and were able to live well and to educate me. Now if they could accomplish all of that, then why can’t I?” she asked. Imperiale offers fresh foods at affordable prices to encourage people to make healthier dietary choices. She remembers having a garden as a child and the bushels upon bushels of fresh tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, basil and other vegetables which were grown to prepare wholesome food for the family. “This is where my passion for fresh food came from – my roots - and gardening and harvesting was considered an accomplishment in the Italian family. SALAD Jazz is a way to continue what my family gave to me and to also promote fresh and healthy food choices for people of all ages,” Imperiale concluded.
