Local Artists Showcased at Indoor Rock Climbing Gym
Surf artist Jay Alders depicts new rock climbing passion through artwork
If you’ve ever walked into a Surf Taco, attended an art display at the Shore, a Surfing Competition in Belmar, or seen the cover of Surfer Path Magazine and Brazil’s Alma Surf Magazine; you’ve probably seen a beautiful depiction of beach culture by Jay Alders. As a youth growing up at the Jersey shore Jay often reflects on his childhoods spent on the beach surfing and hanging out with friends, and the influence that had on his avant-garde style of artwork that truly captures the human form in a unique and stunning surrealism.
On Sunday, June 14th, 2015 from 6:00pm-8:00pm artist Jay Alders will be attempting to depict a new medium; rock climbing! After attempting indoor rock climbing for the first time this spring, Jay has found a new passion that ties his love for the outdoors with an exciting new sport. During the live painting event this Sunday, Jay will be accompanied by a musical performance by fellow artist and Jersey shore local Quincy Mumford.
The local climbing community is abuzz with the news of a world renown artist bring their passion to life through his art. Hosted by The Gravity Vault in Middletown New Jersey, this event is good for all ages with NO ENTRY FEE.
