Local organizer speaks at Positive Marketing Conference in NYC
Local professional organizer Katie Tracy spoke on Thursday at the Positive Marketing Conference in New York City.
March 31, 2015 Local professional organizer Katie Tracy spoke on Thursday at the Positive Marketing Conference in New York City. Her session focused on why people turn to service professionals such as therapists, coaches, and professional organizers and the value that such professionals bring to their clients.
The two-day conference was hosted by the Center for Positive Marketing at Fordham University. Both academic researchers and service practitioners from throughout the US and internationally attended. The conference focused on using marketing to improve the world.
Tracy, owner of Parlin-based Simple Spaces presented with Ahir Gopaldas, an assistant professor of Marketing at Fordham University. Gopaldas discussed the advantages of using service professionals over more informal helpers such as family or friends. Tracy discussed the added value that she and other service professional bring to their clients. Some areas of discussion included better goal setting, more accountability, and the transference of skills.

Tracy opened the professional organizing company Simple Spaces, LLC in 2010. Tracy helps her clients declutter their homes and de-stress their lives by creating more organized spaces. “I help clients figure out what their organizing goals are and work with them to develop the systems to reach those goals,” Tracy said.
