Man Hides In Marshes After Aberdeen Car Burglary, Police Say
Aberdeen police say a man ran and hid in the marshes early Sunday morning after a couple found him breaking into their car on Amboy Avenue.

ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP, NJ — Aberdeen police say a man ran and hid in the marshes early Sunday morning after a couple found him breaking into their car at 5:30 a.m.
At 5:36 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 14 a woman on Amboy Avenue called 911 to report that she and her husband heard their car alarm sounding. When they went to investigate, they found a man inside their vehicle. When he was confronted, he fled into a marshy area adjacent to the property.
Police officers Hank Chevalier and Martin Walsh went to nearby marina on Hwy. 35 and apprehended the man as he emerged from the marsh. He was found to be in possession of a quantity of money, a tool, and some documents belonging to the victim, police said.

Jose L. Williams, 43, of Newark, was charged with burglary, theft, and criminal mischief and was committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution.
