Matawan 7-Eleven Sells Winning Lottery Ticket

Check your pockets! The Acme on Rt. 9 south in Old Bridge also sold a $50,000 winning lottery ticket, as did a Neptune deli.

MATAWAN, NJ — No, it wasn't the $758.7 million Powerball jackpot — that went to someone in Chicopee, Massachusetts— or even the two $1 million-winning tickets, which were sold in Cumberland County and Paterson, NJ. But one lucky customer at the Matawan 7-Eleven on Morristown Road is a $50,000 winner today.

In total, 26 New Jersey Lottery tickets were sold that matched the four white balls and the Powerball drawn Wednesday, winning the $50,000 third-place prize. The winning numbers for the Wednesday, Aug. 23 drawing were: 06, 07, 16, 23 and 26. The Red Power Ball number was 04. The Multiplier number was 04. Two of those tickets were purchased with Power Play, multiplying the prize to $200,000.
