Matawan-Aberdeen Student Arrested After Threat: Police

Breaking: The student is accused of making terroristic threats; what the threats consisted of was not detailed.

ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP, NJ — A Matawan-Aberdeen Regional School District student was arrested in connection with a threat made to a school, Aberdeen Township police said Saturday.

In a Facebook post Saturday evening, police said the student has been charged with making terroristic threats.

The student and the student's guardians are cooperating, police said, and there does not appear to be "a credible active security threat to any school or person." The investigation is continuing, police said.

"Student and staff safety are always a priority and we are continuously collaborating with the school district to increase safety," police wrote in the post.
