All 4 Aberdeen Council Members Re-Elected, Plus BOE Results

Results for Matawan and Aberdeen mayor, town council and school board races:

ABERDEEN, NJ — All four Councilmembers in Aberdeen were re-elected Tuesday night.

However, these are unofficial results, and will not be certified by the Monmouth County Clerk for several days. Not all mail-in votes have been counted.

Aberdeen town council:

Vote were asked to choose four. All four Democratic Councilmembers ran for re-election and they had four Republican challengers. The people of Aberdeen re-elected the current Councilmembers to their seats Tuesday night:

  • Councilman Arthur S. HIRSCH 2,164
  • Councilman Robert L. SWINDLE 2,199
  • Councilwoman Concetta B. KELLEY 2,182
  • Susan McGOWAN 2,030
  • Michael OLESEN 2,027
  • Carl C. ZANCHELLI 1,980
  • Michael T. VAIL 2,042

Matawan mayor, town council:

  • Current Mayor Joseph Altomonte, D: 1,139
  • Charlie Ross is running for mayor, R: 970
  • Council President Deana Gunn, D: 1,048
  • Arlan Feiles, D: 1,027
  • Anissa Esposito is running for Council, R: 913

Joe Saggese was also running for town Council, but he was dropped from the Republican ticket after he was charged with a domestic violence aggravated assault in late September. His name still appeared on ballots. 676 votes

School board:

From Matawan borough; voters will be asked to choose one:

  • Laurie SKOP, 1,069
  • Sandra CLAVIJO, 507

From Aberdeen, choose two:

  • Cheryl R. MAZZEO, 1,552
  • Danielle SPRUELL, 1,818
  • Christopher McGOVERN, 1,764
  • Shelley GERSHNER, 1,208
