80 Matawan-Aberdeen kids attended the workshop on emergency preparedness last Friday night.

MATAWAN, NJ - Natasha Allen is in the 8th grade at Matawan-Aberdeen Middle School and a Cadette Girl School in Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Troop #397. And last Friday night, Jan. 20, she led an emergency preparedness workshop as part of her Silver Award project that was attended by an incredible 80 children from the Matawan-Aberdeen community.
The workshop, “Be Prepared! Not Scared!” addressed how to prepare for an emergency and included hands-on demonstrations, including a tour of an ambulance. Allen led the workshop as part of her Silver Award project, the highest award that a Cadette Scout can earn.
