Matawan Man Indicted For Carjacking, Terroristic Threats

Prosecutors say he threatened to kill the person whose car he was stealing.

MATAWAN, NJ-- A Matawan man was indicted for carjacking and making terroristic threats, the Monmouth County prosecutor's office said.

Thomas Herson 3rd, 34, was indicted in connection to an August 2016 arrest. Prosecutors say he threatened a person identified by their initials in danger while attempting to steal a vehicle.

Prosecutors say C.N. was in the vehicle when Herson attempted to steal it. In the process, he threatened to kill C.N., who had reasonable cause to believe that the threats would be carried out.

Bail had been set at $250,000 when Herson was arrested in August.
