Matawan Relay For Life To Be Held
The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Matawan will be held on Friday and Saturday.

The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Matawan will be held on Friday and Saturday.
The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. at Matawan Regional High School in Aberdeen.
The fundraising walk began in May 1985 in Tacoma, Washington, when Dr. Gordy Klatt walked and ran around a track for 24 hours, according to the organization’s website.

That year, he raised $27,000 for the American Cancer Society. A year later, about 340 people joined the event.
Now, the worldwide program has raised almost $5 billion to fight cancer, the website said.
