The fishing derby will be held at beautiful Lake Lefferts between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. that day. Free hot dogs will be provided for the kids, courtesy of the Washington fire engine company.No fishing license is required for the whole day. Prizes will be awarded for different categories. Aberdeen Township will host its annual Independence Day Extravaganza at Veterans Memorial Park (Ocean Blvd &amp; Lakeshore Dr) July 1. Rain date is July 10. Festivities run from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM with the fireworks spectacular lighting up the bay at approximately 9:15 PM. 
<ul><li>Activities: Family fun zone, food trucks, inflatables, face painting, character meet-and-greets, and a DJ.</li><li>The splash pad will remain open until 8:00 PM.</li><li>Free bus transportation will be provided to and from the park</li></ul>
