Middlesex County CPA Offering Tax Prep Help to Local Non-profits

J. Mitchell Sincoff, CPA, is offering free or reduced-price tax preparation assistance to local non-profits in Middlesex and Monmouth counties.

“It’s extremely important to keep resources in the community,” Sincoff said, “and I’d like to be able to help volunteer-run local charities commit as much money as possible to the community and as little as possible to operating overhead.”

With 35 years of experience in private practice and more than 30 years operating in Monroe Township, Sincoff has extensive experience working with local not-for-profit organizations in a variety of charitable endeavors, including religious groups, charities, health services, educational organizations, foundations and membership organizations.

Sincoff also believes that tax compliance is “critical for all kinds of non-profit organizations.” In New Jersey, a nonprofit must file to be a tax-exempt organization. They must also submit an annual report as well as a Form 990 tax return. The deadline to submit these forms is May 15th.

With the new offer for non-profit accounting services, Sincoff CPA will help organizations avoid income-generating activities that could incur tax liability, file for tax exempt status and prepare the Form 990 at minimal cost to the organization.

To be eligible for this offer, an organization must have $50,000 or less in assets for free services and $250,000 or less for discounted services. The organization must also be volunteer-run and operate within Middlesex and Monmouth counties. The deadline to take advantage of the offer is April 21, 2017.
