Temple Shalom of Aberdeen held its Mitzvah Day on Sunday, April 15. Activities included preparing Happy Snack packs for Lunch Break in Red Bank, writing notes to members of the military and packing 33 backpacks with food for delivery to the three schools that participate in the Temple’s Backpack Buddies program.
Members of the temple’s teenage group volunteered at Husky House, helping to clean animal cages and caring for the animals.
One of the Mitzvah Day projects was led by the Women of Temple Shalom. The group collected and packed over 60 purses with toiletries such as new makeup, lotions and feminine hygiene products. These will be donated to a charity.
