Monmouth County Woman Competing On Food Network Show
Mimi Chang of Middletown is a contestant on the Food Network's All-Star Academy Show.

A Middletown woman is one of 10 home cooks who will compete on the Food Network’s All-Star Academy Show, according to NJ.com.
The show premiered Sunday night, and Mimi Chang of Middletown will be among the contestants vying for a $50,000 grand prize, the newspaper reported.
“It was amazing to have the opportunity to cook with, work with these mentor chefs,” she told NJ.com. “These are my heroes, these are the rock stars of cooking and I was awestruck to be in such proximity to them. I learned a whole heck of a lot, my cooking has gone up to such a higher degree of professionalism.”

In 2013, Chang won Bobby Flay’s burger of the month contest, and last year, her chai-glazed cinnamon waffles made her a finalist in the Pillsbury Bake-Off.
Chang, a legal recruiter, lives in Middletown with her husband and their sons.
