Mullaney & Associates & The Frances Foundation to Sponsor 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament

Mullaney & Associates Physical Therapy will host a 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Saturday, June 13 to raise funds for The Frances Foundation, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to help alleviate a child’s pain and suffering during their battle with cancer by offering a special gesture or a memorable moment.

The event, which will begin at 9:30 a.m., will take place at Joseph Penniplede Park located on Jackson Street in Matawan.  In the event of rain, the tournament will be held on Sunday, June 14.  The double elimination tournament is open to participants who are high school age and older.  A signature of a parent or guardian is required for participants under age 18.  Space is limited to 10 teams of up to four players each.

In addition to its mission of bringing smiles to kids fighting cancer, The Frances Foundation provides financial assistance to impoverished families desperately needing help due to their child’s fight against cancer. The Foundation also supports research aimed at terminat childhood cancers.

“Our goal for the 2015 tournament is to raise over $1,500 for the Foundation to use towards their cause of helping children with cancer,” said Michael Mullaney, DPT, who along with his wife Christine Mullaney, DPT, owns Mullaney & Associates Physical Therapy on Main Street in Matawan.

Players will receive team shirts, with trophies given to the top three teams.  The registration fee is $100 per team.

A number of sponsorship opportunities are available to assist with the fundraising effort, ranging in price from $100 to $300.  In-kind donations of water, fruit and snack bars are also needed.  Each level of sponsorship offers exposure during the event on banners and in announcements, with the $300 Gold Sponsorship also providing the opportunity for sponsors to set up a table to further advertise and promote their business.
