Mullaney & Associates PT Offers Pitcher Arm Care Program
Mullaney & Associates Physical Therapy in Matawan is offering an Arm Care program for pitchers.
Mullaney & Associates Physical Therapy is now offering a Pitcher Arm Care program that utilizes science-based techniques to build arm strength, increase performance velocity and minimize injury risk.
The program, open to athletes ages 10 and up, consists of both pre-season strengthening and in-season recovery. The pre-season component features six, 45-minute sessions from January to March focusing on strength and flexibility and sport-specific plyometric. The in-season component features four, 15-minute sessions from March to June focused on soft tissue massage and flexibility. The total program costs $395. Additional pre-season and in-season sessions are available for purchase.
Former pitcher Michael Mullaney, DPT, and the team at Mullaney & Associates incorporated 17 years of studying, presenting, evaluating and treating the throwing athlete to develop the Pitcher Arm Care program.

Mullaney, who co-founded Mullaney & Associates with his wife Christine Mullaney, DPT, pitched on his high school and college teams. He has devoted a large portion of his career to the treatment of pitchers, previously serving as a Research Physical Therapist at the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine & Athletic Trauma (NISMAT) at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. He has published multiple peer-reviewed research studies in the area of sports medicine, including several in the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
Mullaney also continues to present at medical conferences and sports medicine symposiums across the country. He is past Chairman of the American Physical Therapy Association’s (APTA) Shoulder Special Interest Group and is currently the Vice Section Programming Chair for the Sports Physical Therapy Section. In 2015, he was the recipient of the 2015 “Outstanding Service Award” from the Sports Section of the APTA for his dedication in research, service to the Sports Section and commitment to clinical excellence in sports physical therapy.
