The aquarium is designed "to transport kids of all ages into an underwater world while highlighting the importance of conservation," said the company. Bass Pro Shops said they've designed their Sayreville store to be a retail destination for outdoor enthusiasts to bring their kids and families.

The Bass Prop Shop will be located within the Riverton complex, which is a 400-acre town home community currently being built along the Raritan River and the mouth of Raritan Bay. Riverton will be located on Chevalier Avenue, right off the Sayreville exit from the Garden State Parkway south at the Driscoll Bridge. You will be able to see Riverton and the Bass Pro Shop as you drive over the Driscoll Bridge.
Riverton will have a boat marina, and walking trails and a center green open to the public. In addition to the Bass Pro Shop, a QuickChek and Starbucks plan to open at Riverton. Sayreville town hall will relocate there, too. Learn more about Riverton.
Bass Pro Shops was founded in 1972 when an avid young fisherman named Johnny Morris started selling tackle out of his father’s liquor store in Springfield, Missouri.
That was the company’s sole location for the first 13 years, and it has since grown to nearly 200 retail locations throughout North America.
Morris, who has been called “the Walt Disney of the Outdoors,” said of his new Sayreville store:
“We are honored to help create an unforgettable experience for families throughout the tri-state region. This location and concept will be unlike anything ever seen in the outdoor retail industry and truly opens a new chapter in the Bass Pro Shops story. To be able to showcase the importance of conservation and help inspire passion for the outdoors with so many families is downright exciting.”
In addition to a vast assortment of fishing and outdoor gear, the Sayreville Outdoor World location will have industry-leading boat brands, including TRACKER, RANGER, NITRO, SUN TRACKER, REGENCY, ASCEND, TAHOE, TRITON, MAKO, HATTERAS and HOBIE, plus the game-changing TRACKER OFF ROAD lineup of ATVs and side-by-sides.
The company says they plan to hire 300 people to work at the new Sayreville location, and will host a hiring event at the Sheraton Edison on Wednesday, June 24, and Thursday, June 25, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Interested applicants can apply for open positions now at basspro.com/careers.
